Round 2: National Final (Team Selection)

Invitation-only final in Hanoi (December 2026). Top 100 scorers from Round 1 compete across two sessions — theory and practical — to earn a place on the Vietnam national team for IAIO 2027 in Da Nang.

Schedule

Friday:
Opening ceremony and equipment check. Bring laptop and national ID.
Saturday:
Morning: Theory exam (120 min). Afternoon: Practical exam (180 min).
Sunday:
Awards ceremony and national team announcement.

Format

Theory:
Written and multiple-choice questions on AI/ML concepts. 120 minutes.
Practical:
On-computer ML task. Organizer provides a training dataset and a base model. Candidates train the model and submit predictions against a private test set. 180 minutes.

When:
December 2026 (Friday–Sunday). Exact dates announced after Round 1 results.
Where:
Hanoi. Exact venue announced with personal invitations.

Eligibility

Invitation-only. The top 100 candidates by total score from Round 1 receive a personal invitation by email. No separate registration — the organizer contacts qualifiers directly.

Awards

The top 8 candidates each receive a Gold Medal and together form the Vietnam national team, representing the country at the IAIO 2027 international final in Da Nang, 25 Feb – 3 Mar 2027.

Fee and Requirements

Entry fee:
500,000 VND — fully sponsored. No charge to candidates.
Bring:
National ID (CCCD or passport), personal laptop with charger, pen and eraser.

Round 2 is invitation-only. Earn a place by ranking in the Top 100 of Round 1 (National Qualifier, October 2026).
